Bogdan Gîrbovan

Bogdan Gîrbovan (b. 1981, Drobeta-Turnu Severin) lives and works in Bucharest. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Bucharest with the photography series "10/1," which is also his best-known work, featuring ten interior landscapes that capture the particularities of the same built space on different floors. His photography examines categories through personal narratives and explores the dynamic relationship between nature and the human being. Among his projects are Uniforms and Garments, RAPI, 5@14, and Two Months Nowhere.

He has held eight solo exhibitions in Łódź, Bucharest, Timișoara, and Paris, and has participated in group shows in Bucharest, Madrid, Zurich, Prague, Venice, Paris, Istanbul, and Chicago. His photographs have been published in Punctum, NYArts Magazine, Fotografija, IDEA, and Post Photography. In 2017, he co-produced the book RAPI, and in 2019, he published the artist book Categories, edited by Galeria Posibilă.
