The exhibition will be on view through 20 September 2026.
Opening Reception: Wednesday, 29 July 2026, 4:00 PM
Venue: National Museum of Art of Moldova
Address: 115, 31 August 1989 Street, Chișinău
The exhibition presents recent works reflecting on social, political, and personal transformations reshaping the contemporary world. NEW HOPE is a space shaped by both human vulnerability and resilience, at a time when physical and spiritual boundaries are constantly being challenged. ‘History is filled with examples of hope proving vain—empires crumbled, disasters struck, and injustices went unanswered. Yet, despite it all, hope has stubbornly reappeared, time and time again. This new series explores that abstract and fragile feeling we call HOPE.’ - Roman Tolici
A CONTEXT OF ACCELERATED CHANGES
Socio-political shifts usually unfold gradually, allowing time for adaptation. However, abrupt events in history can trigger rapid changes, causing collective trauma. Over the past four years, such events have profoundly impacted our lives. Roman Tolici’s works reflect moments of uncertainty, adaptation, and the quest for balance in this context.
