SAT – Smallest Art Fair in Town returns with its fourth edition, titled “A Place of Contemplation”, a framework that reimagines contemplation not as a suspension of the world, but as a territory of attention.
The 4th edition takes place across two venues in central Bucharest, in a diptych format that, for the first time, includes a section dedicated to emerging artists.
1. Salon de Papier (12 Constantin Cristescu St.)
Continuing its original format, Salon de Papier remains a space dedicated exclusively to works on paper. Within this setting, the artworks map out a place of contemplation that has already taken shape—a visible, sedimented space.
The 4th edition brings together eight major galleries from Romania’s contemporary art scene. Alongside returning galleries GAEP, Mobius, Sector 1, and Suprainfinit, this year’s edition welcomes three new participants: Anca Poterașu, Galeria Posibilă, and Ivan.
2. Mobius (13 Piața Amzei)
The new section dedicated to emerging artists, open to all media, presents a territory still under construction—a possibility in the making.
This section aims to provide visibility to a generation in formation, for whom access to the traditional art market infrastructure is often difficult. At the same time, it supports galleries that promote emerging artists, offering them a platform for exposure.
Following previous editions that brought together galleries from Bucharest, Timișoara, Chișinău, and Berlin, SAT continues to position itself as an alternative art fair model, without separate booths, without direct competition, and with an emphasis on collaboration and authentic dialogue between artists, galleries, and the public.
In this way, SAT aligns itself with international initiatives such as Basel Social Club (Switzerland), Minor Attractions (UK), and Esther (USA), which prioritize community and dialogue over the traditional structure of art fairs.
