WTFWJD? : Pandele Pandele

7 February - 21 March 2020
Overview

We are pleased to present WTFWJD, a solo exhibition of recent works by Pandele Pandele and the first presentation of the artist with Mobius.

Comprising a large variety of works, from paintings to drawings, sound elements, ceramic objects, ready-mades, light boxes & digital art, as well as a site-specific installation, the exhibition reads as a guide for decoding what we currently call common reality. Each work stands alone as a coherent statement against the ordinary, turning the artistic process into "a guerrilla product placement", as the Artist states.

Each work stands alone as a coherent statement against the ordinary, turning the artistic process into “a guerrilla product placement”, as the Artist states. Pandele is focused mostly on the discoveries he makes during the creation process, searching for that essential, unique image which truly deserves to be seen. The Artist is the guide leading the viewer through a very personal and heavily coded world.

Each artwork becomes a possible key for decoding this reality in which the common rules are no longer valid. The assembly of works reads as a manual for life – how to use it and how to configurate it against all social, cultural and political stereotypes.
Skimming through this manual, the guidelines are short, blunt, and clear:
“Go deep inside you, do not give them your time. Acknowledge that the world does not belong to you. Reality happens somewhere else. Do not give up on thorough understanding. Enter the time. Become the slave of your own freedom… Understand the light. Pure objects are not to be touched. Never do what they tell you to do. Go see the world. Record it. Let it sweat you. Draw the world and let the pencil drop in your pint. Let it swell and break. Absorb the world dissolved from it. Live with the fear of your own fist… Let all the unborn know they are!... Look for the truth specifically because life contains no truth and no action is preferable to another. Find out if there is any life inside you… Do not surround yourself with educated people – they are not capable of genuine honesty! … Do not use the global tragedies as bate. Do not believe there is such thing like innocent people. Do not ask for forgiveness – no one knows how to offer it to you. Wait for the second coming. I can’t wait my unborn child to meet you and never salute you!”
