      Preserving the legacy of Ecaterina Vrana (1969–2019), a significant figure in post-communist Romanian art. Her career includes numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe and North America. Vrana's work continues to inspire and influence new generations of artists.

    The Urgent Need for Support:

    • A Growing Need

      The contemporary art scene in Romania is dynamic and brimming with talent, particularly among female artists. However, the lack of a dedicated support system for emerging artists has created a significant gender disparity. For the past three decades, there has been no consistent, comprehensive program to assist contemporary artists, with the UAP awards primarily favoring already established artists. This leaves a clear need for targeted support for emerging female artists.

    • Significant Female Participation

      Despite these challenges, women are significantly represented within the Romanian art community. Data from the DIPLOMA exhibition over five years shows a strong presence of female participants, ranging from 46% to 68%, highlighting their talent and drive. y investing in PEVA, you are investing in a vibrant future for Romanian art.     PEVA’s Proven Track Record and Future Plans

    Program Structure:

    1. Portfolio Submission: Emerging female artists submit their portfolios.
    2. Expert Judging: A panel of renowned curators reviews the submissions, evaluating artistic merit, innovation, and potential.
    3. Awards Ceremony: Winners are announced at a prestigious awards ceremony, celebrating their achievements and acknowledging their talent.
    4. Artists setting up in the studios. 
    5. Activations over the year: studio visits, video materials, interviews, etc. 
    6. Exhibition at Mobius. 

     

    Prizes: 

    PEVA awards generous prizes to three outstanding female artists: First place receives financial support, a year of studio access, and a solo exhibition at Mobius Gallery; second and third place winners each receive financial support and a year of studio access. Winners are selected based on their artistic merit in painting and graphic arts.
